Our family welcomes yours – of any size and all generations. Our approach to your stay is flexibility – around accommodations, meals, and activities – to keep everyone happy, not least your children. No matter their age, for them Africa is a new world, filled with marvellous things – the stuff of books and dreams made real.
Fizzing with the excitement of discovery, they need a bit more freedom to explore and just be kids. Within this easy-going environment, we often see youngsters (and adults alike) disconnecting from technology. During this pause, our commitment is to creating experiences that reconnect you with each other and the ‘wonder-fulness’ of life.
River Lodge’s Family River Suite includes a second children’s en-suite bedroom, laid out with their own amenities, to give children (and their parents) their own space. Ting Lodge’s Hi’Nkweni Villa and Ivory Lodge’s Fish Eagle Villa in addition each come with a private field guide and safari vehicle, taking freedom up another gear.
This will be a family safari your tribe will never forget. Whether inspecting a wild flower or hearing the roar of a lion for the first time, you’ll rediscover life through the awe-filled gazes of your children. Children of all ages are welcome on private game drives, and those 10 years and older may join the twice-daily drives.
Mack & Madi Kid’s Programme
Inspired by Rob and Britt More’s twins – we have sent the timetable packing and instead offer a range of exploring, sporting, and creative activities for your children to choose from. We know each – from bug CSI to beading – will surprise and delight them. You have the option of joining in, but will likely be told: No parents allowed!
Everyone loves the pool. But if you’re looking for some time alone or as a couple, the spas or salas are quiet retreats, somewhere off in the bush. All treatments are given by our expert therapists, and use natural and organic Africology products. Might we suggest the hour-long Bespoke Body Experience, tailored specifically to you?
As anticipated as the activities, brings everyone around the table. Food is familiar, and sometimes a touch exotic, with many choices for picky eaters. Our chefs prepare dishes to tempt every appetite – no one goes hungry! And there are always treats… Cosy up to toast marshmallows on the fire or sip hot chocolate in bed.
