A morning spent with Scotia the leopard

Scotia The Leopard | Lion Sands Blog |

Field Guide Joe van Zyl and his guests spent a morning with Scotia the female leopard on Thursday 18th February, and captured some excellent images which we had to share with you.

Said Joe, “We followed Scotia doing a boundary walk. She was scent marking her area and performed the Flehmen grimace (more than an expression, this is the act of testing the air using the Jacobsen organ to establish where another animal has marked his or her territory).”

Scotia then climbed into a tree for a few minutes, before descending again to continue with her duties.

A wonderful morning spent with a simply spectacular cat!
