Henna Pre-school Newsletter – January 2007
Huntington Community welcomed the first rain for the season. All children, who are currently on school holidays, and village woman are plowing their fields in time to prepare for Christmas day. Some of the villagers who finished plowing in time are now shopping for clothes, food and presents for Christmas.
CHRISTMAS DAY: The children of Huntington are walking around the village eating candy sticks that were sent by Kim Stout. Nickwell managed to keep his smile for the whole day after receiving his new clothes sent by Kim, and on the other hand, Tintswalo and her Grandmother opened their Christmas presents carefully.
HENNA PRE-SCHOOL
The annual graduation ceremony was held on the 5th of December and all the children and their families were dressed up for the big day. Thembi and Marianda helped dressed all 67 graduates in their full graduation gowns ready to receive their certificates. Lion Sands catered for about 450 people who came to watch and assist with the ceremony.

Food parcels, school bags, toys and soccer balls were given to these children. Sonja from Dulini gave a very informative talk on nutrition and the immune system. After the event, all the children, their families and the HHBC team enjoyed the oxtail stew and rice which was prepared by Sonja and her Chefs. The Huntington theatre group entertained all the guests at Exeter lodge by playing a drama on HIV/AIDS and poverty.
