Reservations
The two "rain trees" are the African Weeping Wattle (Peltophorum africanum) and the Apple Leaf (Lonchocarpus capassa). The name is derived from the reason that the nymph of the Frog Hopper insect (Ptyelus grassus), also known as the Spittle Bug, sucks sap from the trees filtering nutrients but excreting water which drips to the ground causing the perceived effect of rain.
