We will miss all the staff terribly especially our butler. The service was amazing all the time and everyone was beyond friendly. Our Ranger and tracker was a fantastic team along with the excellent chef. We loved every minute of the safari and the lodge. It was also so nice to listen to the Lion Sands Choir.

We have stayed at the high end Asian Resorts and also been on safari before, but the Lion Sands Ivory Lodge far exceeded any expectations we had. It gracefully combines standards of elegance and architecture that equal/exceed the best in Asia, with the drama of the savannah. We regularly watched herds of Buffalo and Elephants drink from the deck. The service is unbelievable. B est place we’ve ever been!!!

Watching 18 Elephants graze in the reeds below our suite is something I will never forget. Watching the lions eat a buffalo and smelling the fresh meat! Lion Sands Game Reserve - Excellent from A to Z! Friendly, helpful staff, exciting game drives with the feeling you were the only people in the bush. I think we saw just about every animal possible! Our Ranger Diederik was fantastic, he seemed like a member of our family. He has an amazing knowledge of the animals as well as the flora and fauna. Meals were great with a lot of different locations to make them a lot more fun. The morning and evening game drive stops for food and beverage in the bush added tremendously to the experience!

The first night’s sighting of Leopard with its fresh kill was unbelievable and thanks for delivering this to us in such an exclusive and responsible way. Our post-breakfast day spent lounging in our pool with no one but an Elephant, six Baboons, a Buck and a Kudu is an activity not to be missed. Very special!!

South Africa has been a fantastic experience, the beauty of the country and the warmth of the people. Nothing captures these aspects more than our stay at Ivory Lodge. We've never been so happy to get up this early in the mornings. We’ve seen the big five, but thanks to our Ranger and Tracker our safari has been brought to life with insights into every living creature we’ve seen along with the flora and landscape. On top of this the food was delicious and never ending. The selection of South African wines superb (wine cellar worth a visit) and service was excellent, truth is we didn’t want to leave. We could not have asked for a more amazing honeymoon!! The view from this room is absolutely stunning, to include viewing Elephants, Buffalo, Monkeys and Eagles. The room itself was spectacular. The staff truly the best ever!! Our hats off to the Ranger and Tracker for showing us the big five!! The drives were absolutely magical. Words and pictures can’t capture the amazing experience we've had here. Within the first 24 hrs not only did we see the big five, but also saw so many other brilliant animals including Wild Dogs, Zebras and Warthogs. Our tracker and Ranger were an amazing team, they really made the trip for us. But the safari part is still only a small part of the total package. The food was gorgeous, the service great, the room spectacular(we shone the flash light across the River at night and saw a herd of Elephants playing in the water!!!) and everything fits together perfectly to make the stay unforgettable. Amazing, we have seen things we never imagined to see, ranging from elephants across the river to a lion kill. Everybody is extremely nice and helpful. We all felt at home as soon as we arrived. Malachite suite at Ivory Lodge is the most luxurious place I have ever stayed at. It was an unbelievable tranquil experience. Although I extended my stay in Africa to see Leopard and was a bit disappointed the Leopard eluded me, I still had a fabulous time!! More reasons to return to this magical place.
