Ivory Lodge: Home is not a place, home is a feeling…

Home is not a place, home is a feeling…

We’ve loved our journey at Lion Sands. As children appreciating the essence of the African wilderness with our parents and grandparents. As teenagers exploring life and testing our limits. As young lovers learning about romance and relationships. As newly-weds, high on fresh beginnings, hopes and dreams. As first-time parents, at peace watching our babies lulled to sleep by birdsong and the gentle breeze. As more experienced mothers and fathers coming to realise that the very best learning experience for our children is through Nature, simple playful adventure and curious exploration. As custodians to young adults finding their place in this world. Throughout the many phases of our journey this far, the one consistent is our deep connection with the wilderness. It has served to unite us and remind us about the things that really matter in this life. Love, reverence, respect and a humility in understanding how small we all are in the grand scheme of things.

The evolution of Ivory Lodge is a reflection of our journey, as well as our decades’ worth of hospitality experience in the business of fulfilling visitors’ expectations. We’ve learned that what our guests want is way beyond bricks and mortar. They want something life-affirming.

So we’ve gone about building a very special home in Nature, that ultimately belongs to us all. Where visitors are able to unburden themselves of their daily routines, responsibilities and habits. A place to relax and get truly comfortable in the luxury of simple indulgence, and to plug into that special something that affirms a life well lived.

Each of the eight Villas at Ivory Lodge has been designed with the essence of ‘home’ in mind. Space, flow, light, décor and a spectacular communion with the natural environment make for the ideal dwelling. Each unit has a master bedroom with bathroom en-suite; double-volume wardrobe area; outdoor shower in an indigenous garden forest; private lounge area with fireplace; a private pool and expansive viewing deck, as well as a covered patio.

Those who prefer the feeling of being completely alone and utterly secluded will appreciate The Fish Eagle Villa, which has been created as an experience unto itself. The Two-Bedroom Villa comprise two private Villas, connected by an entrance hall, lounge and study. It also has an expansive deck and covered patio with pool; an indigenous garden leisure area; a private Fire Boma; a star jetty with bed for private enjoyment of the natural environment and vivid Milky Way above; and a private Wellness Room, comprising a double treatment room and thoughtfully equipped gym facility.

The new Ivory Lodge marries stylish elegance, an exceptional location and that very special something that you may not see, but you will most certainly feel!
